Polynome

I love this app...great features. This is a great way to practice your polyrhythms. It is also great way to also check your rhythms and note values.

Best Metronome App on iTunes

This is unquestionably the best Metronome App out there! For drummers this is a must-get as well as for musicians of other instruments in general. This App has every feature that the other simple metronome apps on iTunes have as well as tons of other features (while still keeping the App very easy to use) including: tracking your practice times, making complicated polyrhythms, making set-lists for live gigs, having two metronomes to play different rhythms/times/beats simultaneously and is even able to program complicated drum beats (with a wide selection of drum voices, click sounds and voice counting). One of my most favorite features is (and is very useful for musicians of ALL disciplines/instruments) is the option to randomly mute the metronome for a bar, testing your internal timing! Highly recommend to get this app! A big plus is also that the maker of this App is an experienced drummer who is constantly working hard to update this App frequently to add many new features and improved look/layout. Thanks Joe!

Holy Wow!

Really, really useful and pretty well-designed to boot. The feature thatd make it THE killer metronome app (for me) is MIDI file rendering and export. Nonetheless this is the best app of its kind Ive seen for a while.

Magic App Polynome Pro Saves A Lot of Time

Wonderful features makes this cross-rhythm app or polyrhythm app stand out from other metronomes and apps. They are magnificent to dance or play and the skills to use the app and play along can help any arts or sciences. You will love it. ....2015 new updates bring stunning enhancements that provide additional amazing flexibility to an already superior cross rhythm interface.

too much money for too little features

this app is a very cool idea. hell it even does the cool thing you want which is program is basically any rhythm and polyrhythm you want with two lines. only problem is all the benefits the app advertises are only available by paying another 8 dollars after the initial 5. so you cant save anything or look at other rhythms. also no dotted rhythms which I think it just whack. if you are down with 13 smackers then this app is for you but dont be fooled and think that the 5 dollar app will let you do anything you really want to do

Not just for drummers...

This is THE best metronome app out there. Its made by a drummer and is great for drummers beginner to professional but I think its great for all musicians: instrumentalists and vocalists who want to improve in the area of rhythm. And the Practice Log feature makes practicing and progress a lot easier to keep up with. You can also make and save detailed notes about each practice session and what was worked on.

Awesome metronome!

Best metronome app I have ever had!

Polynome review

I love the tool. My only complaint is that I have not been able to change the note for the metronome marking from a quarter note to anything else.

Best metronome app

This is by far the best and most user friendly metronome app Ive used. Very easy to set up even advanced rhythms with subdivision variations. Set a triplet on one, 16th notes on 2, quintuplets on 3, and sextuplets on 4 and a different subdivision pattern the next measure with ease. Also place accents easily on any note u like to make cool dynamics. Great tool.

Exactly what we need!

You can piece together simple or complicated figures EXACTLY the way YOU want to practice them...and it is EASY to do. Frankly, I dont have a lot of free time. I have to choose: practice, screw-around with my kit, or figure out software. I like all of it...but I love to play. I look for any advantage that gets me to the fun stuff quickly! I have been shedding Swiss-trips/hurta/blushda/single-stroke blushda and trying to get my feel right going in and coming out. I was able to program quarters going in then a measure of blushdas and eights out...the setup took me about two minutes. Then I started playing. Wow.

Great app and developer

Asked for a feature that I couldnt find in any other metronome app and it was implemented in a day! Great developer and app!

Best metronome out there, but far from perfect

Ive been using this metronome for quite some time now and I love (most of) it. The most recent update has caused my default metronome to change permanently every time I choose a different rhythm, even though I never save it. Its quite annoying. Theres a lot you can do with this, but Im opinion, the menus are clunky and be confusing or difficult to use. Luckily, there are tutorial videos for them, but I still find them overly confusing. I also believe the playlist function could be simplified. To me, the best feature is the programmable rhythms. As a marching percussionist, I see a lot of different rhythms, and without this metronome it would take me way longer to learn a lot of my music.

Best Metronome App

Prefects practicing time in easy-to-use app no matter what instrument you play. Even the free version rocks. And it always reminds you when youve gone too long without practicing.

Best Metronome I have ever used.

I really like this app, I have both Tempo and Tempo Advanced and this app is the one I use the most. I can make settings specifically for any exercise Im working on with whatever sounds I want. So far Ive only scratched the surface but I program percussion loops to accompany me for practicing latin rhythms, I have settings for basically any time signature I will ever need, Ive used it to figure out difficult passages in snare solos by programming in whole sections, I have polyrhythms, odd subdivisions with the pulse under it, basically Its like practicing with any rhythmic accompaniment I can think of. Im currently programing in some stuff from "New Breed" to play along with me as I read. The only thing missing is being able to program bass lines, then it would be every drummers two best friends in one app, bass and click. I have to confess that I am writing this review because I have a personal motive... I want this thing to just keep getting better and better with every update. Im a drummer and I really enjoy this thing, after almost 20 years playing anything that makes practice more fun is a blessing.

PolyNome

Ive recommended this app to several drummers (I think I have 4 or 5 different ones, but THIS one is the bomb). It goes way beyond any regular metronome. It reminds me of the ol drum machines, capable of programming an exact groove, like The Purdie Shuffle, for instance. Dial in the swing amount, learn to play between the cracks-where it feels the best. Great for practice or gigging; you can set up playlists. Use it for keeping time (Duh), or for inspiration. Dont know why anyone would want more than whats offered here. Almost instant answer from support from the man himself. Built by a drummer FOR drummers.

Flexible and Easy To Use

This metronome keeps getting better and better. I love being able to write my own presets and save them. Im surprised how easy it is to get around and learn in spite of its wealth of features. It is well worth its small price.

Advanced and feature-packed

It might sound hyperbolic to say about a metronome, but this metronome is visionary. Smart devices have brought in a new age in metronomes, and many metronomes now offer polyrhythmic capability, step up training, random drop out clicks to work on your timing, playlists, etc. PolyNome has all these features and more. It even has a mixer with panning! One feature I love is that you can email your complex clicks to other people that have the app. This is great for working on rhythm training with students. PolyNome operates according to a somewhat different vision of metronomes than most. It has two separate metronomes that can run simultaneously. Each metronome can have its own rhythm and time signature, and each metronome can have two separate clicks based on its underlying rhythm. It is very notation centered. PolyNome also accounts for some important aspects of tempo that have been overlooked in most software metronomes. For instance, most app based metronomes dont account for the logarithmic nature of tempo. PolyNome allows you to use the more musical tempo increases from classic metronomes, as well as your own percentages, or your basic digital linear approach. If this sounds complicated, it is. (Just like some of the rhythms are working on!) This metronome really strives to be comprehensive. It has the options and flexibility that youd more commonly find in a desktop application. Its very simple to set up a basic click, but some of the features require that you really understand the entire app to make use of them. One example: the step-up trainer is not in the metronome presets, but has to be accessed from within a playlist. I dont think that this is a the metronome for every musician or for every task. It doesnt have the loudest click, and it doesnt have the simplest interface. But it has features you wont find in any other metronome, and if youre trying to really develop your rhythmic and tempo chops, you should definitely get this app. I also have found the developer to be very responsive and helpful. It seems like hes really engaged in developing this app, and Im confident that there is more fantastic stuff to come in future versions.

Version 2.1.7

Will not install.

Really in depth metronome

No other metronome has the options this one does

Great metronome app - the best so far.

Great metronome. Joe responds very quickly to any questions. Ability to program complex beats and record practice time . Way more than just a metronome.
